The "air burst" is useful for clearing rooms from the outside... with the US version you aim at the wall below a window then click on the laser rangefinder. You then aim through the window at the back...

How much range is "enough" for a air burst hand held weapon? I would expect anything over 300 yards, infantry would have trouble hitting the targets, plus weapons like mortars, automatic grenade...

I read somewhere that the Chinese believe it's sixty percent more effective in urban combat than a mortar, presumably in that fifty to sixty millimetre range.
